Summer Revival?

A ROM hack sounds great, too. I don't think we need many languages, since English is kinda popular everywhere.

Every time I try making a ROM hack I give up really early on.

Hawaii? How was it, Hoods?


If we do go ahead with the ROM hacks we'd need to think of plots and stuff.
Oh, and divide the work.

I could help out with whatever. I'm being incredibly specific, I know.

I hope you wouldn't need any new neat-o pixel pictures, because those things are so gosh darn hard for me. I mean, gee-whiz...

I can pick up things pretty easily. Besides, there are a lot of programs we could use to make ROMs that are somewhat simple to use.

At least simple enough to learn how to use.

I'm pretty flexible when it comes to the plot, so I'm down with whatever you guys think up.

My mind is pretty flexible.

Like right now, I just thought of a world where Pokemon are mostly gone because of humans and now there's a bunch of robo-pokemon being used by registered trainers since humans never really got over their dependency on pokemon.
then you have the professor who knows that there's still real pokemon out there and so the professor gives the PC and their friend/rival/whatever robo-pokemon.
So you're off on this quest to find these so-called 'real pokemon' and beating gym leaders because it's fun and no one really listens to the professors anyway :D
But then comes in team whatever destroying robo-pokemon and saying they're gonna create their own real pokemon somehow and rule the world with their real pokemon-ness.
The twist is that team whatever hired the professor to create real pokemon but since the professor really didn't know what to do about it s/he just tests on him/herself with the mindset of "Why don't we take humans and give them pokepowers?"
So now Team whatever kidnaps the professor and you have to deal with PokeProfessor.

Oh and the professor's aide is always saying "who wants to talk about science?"

Well. I "highlighted" the parts where we were kinda talking about ideas. And yeah. It's tl;dr material, but I'm not gonna take the time to shorten it. I mean, Scep and I were up until 2:40 AM. /hard work, except not really. Which reminds me, I'm like on crack when it's past midnight. ._.

Edit 2; It seems the color code is overrided in the code box code. ._. Well. So much for that idea.

After reading what you guys said about the cake enhancements and world of mini-skirts, I got the message loud and clear: You guys wanna do a Pokemon H-game, don't you? :D

Really though, I'm diggin' the idea of the Professor being with the enemies, if you're down with that.


If you want a penny's worth of thought, then recall back when Purugly started the Nightmare Festival RP. It didn't get finished, but it got me to thinking what she had in mind for the plot of the RP. I thought about it and what Darkrai could've wanted. Perhaps he wanted to drown the land in darkness or eternal nightmare, or something. I imagined the final battle with Darkrai; Your team against a single Darkrai with stupid-high stats (to compensate for him being alone). After that battle, Darkrai fuses himself with and possesses Giratina-O, because the final-boss-has-multiple-forms-cliche is mandatory. Oh, and it's fine to have EPL's mascot play a role, too, I suppose. XD

So what this would look like is Darkrai's body sticks out of Giratina's chest looking kind of limp, the spike-things around Giratina's chest are larger and somewhat (but not completely) surround Darkrai's body kind of like an incomplete rib cage. Giratina's wings become, like, large Darkrai arms (one large pair, not three like Giratina-O normally has). The lower half of Gira's body becomes segmented and separated, connected by its spinal chord. It's type is ??? (so that nothing hits it super-effectively, yet it doesn't get STAB from Dark and Ghost) and also has stupid-high stats. I would think it has some indication of having "multiple HP bars" or "? amount of HP" or something that just gives a feel of looking like it's hard to beat... I mean, it is for the challenge, but it should look like it too.

So anyway, the player fights Darkrai and then Darkrai/Giratina afterwards. The player is then fully healed before being allowed to approach the weakened Darkrai. Before s/he can, your rival/friend steps in and starts a scripted battle where they capture Darkrai. They then reveal that they've been under the influence of Darkai's nightmares for some time now, and hopes to save their friends by being Darkrai's "master" so that Darkrai won't hurt anyone (in exchange, your rival/friend fulfills Darkrai's wishes). The player wishes to finally save his/her friend and begins the final battle with them, while being joined by Giratina in a 2-vs-1 battle (imagine how it was when you teamed up with Steven in Emerald, only the rival doesn't have a partner, and your partner's only Pokemon is Giratina). As you can imagine, the boss has stupidly over-powered Pokemon. Their starter Pokemon is also now part Dark-type with better stats than its normal counterpart. His/her sixth Pokemon is also Darkrai.

And keep in mind this was all based off of and inspired by Puru's RP.

I'm just a little confused about Giratina/Darkrai (Girai? Dartina? What?). I understood everything up to the lower half part. Does that mean its tail becomes separated from its skeleton to the point where it has an exoskeleton? I'm probably reading that wrong.

Also, I feel as if that master pretty much means 'You are now Darkrai's slave, 100%' and you + giratina fight against Darkrai + Slave Rival + his new dark team.

Just wanted clarification.

Oops. My bad. by "they", I was referring to just the rival. No, the player's clean, it's just the friend who's messed up. XD But the "you + giratina fight against Darkrai + Slave Rival + his new dark team" sounds pretty spot-on.

And why not an evil professor? I'm diggin' that. As long as he/she has a GOOD reason for asking me my gender. XD

Oh, okay. I understand now.
Now we have to figure out if the multiple HP bar is possible.
I mean, the closest we could probably come to ? HP is Marowak's ghost in FR/LG but even then it's only impossible to attack until you get the silph scope. At least, that's what I remember. Anyway, after the silph scope/whatever you want to remake it into, Giratina/Darkrai could have max HP (999). I know that much is possible.

The only excuse I could come up with for the gender thing is that the player is automatically registered as a trainer through a scantron form and the professor needs to double-check that everything's okay.
Since you know. Mean friends have messed up their applicant friends registration by marking their genders as female when they're obviously male.

Or maybe they're all blind

Professor gender issue:

• He's blind. (As Scep said.) Also, he'd have to be deaf too. There is usually a obvious difference between a female's and male's voice.
  
• Off of what Scep said, he could be blinded by something. Maybe by light or something. (Now I have that song stuck in my head...)
  
• Scantron/Electronic registration. (As Scep said.)
  
• He's mentally impaired.
  
• The female character is too flat/the male character has some genetic defect.
  
• Your player is on steroids.
  

I thought I had more ideas. The ideas probably slipped out of my mind. /typing this up on campus in the cafeteria.

As for the HP bar, epic hax it. Idk. I think we'll figure that out when we start programming this.

If we do go with the Nightmare Festival route, we'd need to figure some things out:

• New Region or Old Region
  
• When does Darkrai get introduced / the rest of the plot
  
• When does all of this take place
  
• Completely new cast or maybe some older versions of canon characters make an appearance
  
• Figure out a solid motive for Darkrai (we're kinda in the 'maybe' stage since the RP never finished)
  
• Does this actually have anything to do with Festivals

That registration system sounds good, I'm down.

I think it should have a new region, maps, and cast of characters (at the very least, new characters and new areas). People get tired of the same old thing.

As for when does this take place, I think that doesn't really matter. We can have a completely new setting for this game. Parallel worlds, idk.

Well, to be honest, the friend idea was just there to explain why the player's filling out a registration instead of talking to the professor like in every pokemon game. It's not really important :D

And you can usually tell if someone's a boy or girl by looking at them too, so it isn't quite as bad as the traditional games.

The 3rd Gen games are the easiest to hack in terms of hacking the whole thing. 4th and 5th Gen games can be hacked, but it's harder to hack the actual map of the game. Doesn't mean you can't hack the pokemon.

Plus, considering the silph scope is only used in FR/LG, it's really down to which version we want to hack.
Besides, we'd have to replace some pokemon to make room for Giratina/Darkrai and Rival's dark pokemon anyway :D
