All you need to know is that they are the greatest games ever, the end. -shot-
It's a pretty complicated story so I would recommend playing it if you like Sci-fi, RPGs, and good story telling.

Haha yeah it's for the 360 and PS3, but the first Mass Effect is an exclusive for the 360 and the PS3 has a digital comic you get to make the important choices in ME1 when you buy ME2.
