So guys, what happens if we start a guild on Neo to start off?

well, something Silver was planning for my forum, I thought we could try here. so he's thinking of making a downloadable (or a log in and play) game exclusive to the site. like we have our own Pokemon version game. it'd take alot of planning, but not only would we get more users wanting to play it, but I also think we'd get more buzz all over the web! we could make our own pokemon, and evolution games. plus we get our super story-writing masterminds to make the storyline and plot twists. Maybe the possibility of different versions, like red, blue, and yellow, but our own names, like EXE, WAR, and w/e else would work, probably something to give credit to Silver.

That would also take a massive amount of programming knowledge.

We could make it like a mmo thing... but... that would mean running off a server and all that other crap I don't want to deal with.

actually, my friend's little bro has a computer program that he bought that is an actual computer game maker. both 2-D and 3-D. so there's a huge piece that's fixed. i'm gonna see if Silver can borrow it for a while.

Sounds cool.
We could get some artists on EPL to help out.
Pair up with people, share ideas and draw them out for new pokemon.

ya. but the program was a DEMO. xD;; but Silver found a program called Game Maker 7. so it'd be easy to make a Pokemon game with it, since they're all turn based.

Actually, I could probably get servers to run the mmo, but do I want to? Not really. D:

yeah. but for THAW, i'm going to e-mail Square-enix to see if we can get permission to use all sorts of things from them. maybe we could do the same with Nintendo.

no Silver. my dad told me after I told him the idea. he said it'd never work, cause that's all legal stuff. so we should just make everything original.

I hosted one once I think... it was actually on my brother's computer. It failed. So badly. xD

actually as long as it's non-profit the copyright holders usually don't care that much, which is why there are already so many fangames roaming around

I don't plan on making any profit from you... Chris might make some profit... Pay him to host our game. XD

hm. that IS good to know...but we'd also have to ask Disney...for characters like Donald, Mickey, Goofy, you gotta pay royalties for using their images.

Here's an example of a game that uses Kingdom Hearts characters. I'm not sure permission was used, but that's just an assumption:

Since it's clearly not making any profit (even if he wanted to...), is Square-Enix cool with this? No one's gonna bust him up for using copyrighted things? Just wanna clarify.

Well, since they're not making any money off of it, I don't see any reason to sue them.
If that was the case, every author on fanfiction.net would have like 20 lawsuits

Yeah, that'd be great. I think I've got the hang of Gamemaker...maybe. I've made 1 game on it, since it was part of the tutorial, but, yeah, who knows.
