Purugly and Xyon both make really good points :) And Kenny, if your not going to make an effort to try and help, then you should probably just post on another thread and leave the people that ARE helping and giving ideas alone.

ITS nuuuu ELITE POKEMON LEGION! Face it, not ALL, but about 50% of Pokemon now is the games and battling. If we set lax/strict equal guidelines then we will get people that are not total idiots in the battling section.

Done :D Wait not yet lol. Playing to win is what battling is about but you should also have fun as that is alos what it is about. The loser should take their loss with dignity and not be all pissy about it. Same with sore winners. :)

I've been trying to take down that thing for months.

I wouldn't mind new members at all, we just need to be smart on how we advertise.
Which would take a whole lot of effort to find the people that aren't 'm0r3 1337 @ p0k3m@n th4n u'
And a lot of people take competitive battling way too far.

Updated with ideas, can't type them seriously at the moment

    PROJECT: EPL
    Suggestions are needed

Because you know this forum is pretty much a project in terms of work to do.
    Got your attention enough? Okay.
We\'ve all pretty much established that this forum\'s hanging on it\'s last threads.
And many of you guys are somewhat enthusiastic about bringing the forum back to life.
So.... We needed a suggestions board to hold all the suggestions you guys had about fixing up EPL.
Since the old board just went from \'WHERE DID EVERYONE GO\' to \'LET\'S SAVE EPL\' to \'*KITTEN FLIES AWAY*\'
And that\'s pretty much the story of EPL: we start on topic, and then we just go to a bucket of spam.
    Which really isn\'t healthy.
So, the ten people that are left/thinking about quitting this soon-to-be-dump, let\'s brainstorm shall we?
Because it would be a real shame to have this place die after Beast did such a good job on the background D:

No spam, please, just ideas and what you think about them.

    Ideas:

    • More Tourneys
    • Advertise (lol)
    • Art / Sprite Contests
    • Pokemon of The Week
    • Work on Wi-fi Section (Forum Team Battles, anyone?)
    • Bring Back our Region that never lived to see daylight
    • Poke-pets....which aren\'t really original :D
    • Bring in new members?
    • Ask our resident Professor _____
    • CB finally makes like a tree and leaves
Yay for me and background. :D
Ideas after half-skimming/mostly reading all the posts~ (I couldn't really think of anything... just random stuff from me chatting with friends ages ago... Reminds me... I was watching seniors at my school playing Pokemon cards. o:)
Let's see... Hm... FAN DUB POKEMON VIDEOS.
It was an idea my friend wanted to do, but never did. >>
I think we should wait a bit before getting new members. First get things working and systems going and blahblahblah.
    Nice rewards for tourneys? (Idk.)
Hm... events. Something to make people look forward to something.

Maybe if I like modified my voice I can pass off somewhat as a male :D

But most people don't have mics and stuff.

You see, it can't be just one or two people that can do it. It should be everyone that wants to, but some lack the proper material to fandub. |:

well obviously it can't be just one or two. and fandubs go easier if one person gets one character, and each records their lines for thaty character as separate sound files, and get the video together, and one person adds them all to make it sound almost as if we lived near each other and could do this easily, when in fact, it's a shit ton of work savvy..?

I really don't have any ideas for more activity, but I think a complete wipe of the topics in the really spammed up areas, aka GENERAL CHAAAAT, should be taken so that we ALL start fresh.

Starting fresh sounds nice. It's like EPL's own little New Game+. :D

Also, perhaps we can get some kind of... Something... that makes use of the usergroups here. Right now, they seem kinda pointless.

Or, we can make it to where after you make a certain amount of posts, you get access to more threads and areas of the forums.
We'd have to get rid of the spam tread to make sure it's not abused for this purpose.
Invitation only wouldn't work very well, but I think that if new members had something to work too, they'd try harder to be more active, hopefully in a good way.

I agree on the whole "invitation-only" thing. Invitations are fine, but it's not like we're some fancy amazingly-popular site that people are dying to get into. Anyone should be able to join.

And at least give someone a chance before posting "you better not be a n00b >>; ill kill u if u are" or something on their intro board. XD (Sarcasm, so you know. No one ACTUALLY posted that. XD )

Not fancy, but wary that the internet is full of morons. e__e

Although I don't fully support the idea, I think it could work. o:

But yeah, I think those that join need to be worthy of posting in certain areas like Shenzi mentioned.

If we're cleaning up the forums, why not reset the posts again if we get rid of the spam board?
That way we're all pretty much on the same level.

CB Posts too, since we never got to it. Even though it's cool to see how many of your posts weren't in the general section.

Plus, we'll need to get rid of inactive members.

This sounds like a great idea. c:
But would the few who are still active today be granted access to the higher forums from the beginning, or would we have to work at it along with the new members we're hoping to get?

I agree with the idea to clear all, but Cho brings up a good question. since we're EPL veterans shouldn't we have access to more areas?

It really depends on like what we base admission on.

Like, if we do it by posts, you guys already have the posts so you Vets are getting access.

Likewise if we do it by how long you've been active here.

Either way, you'll get more access than newer members. :D
